Oxfam activists
Liverpool Oxfam Activist group organises campaigns and events to promote the work of Oxfam.
This year Oxfam's are focusing on climate change, raising awareness of how it will affect people all over the planet and what can be done. The activist groups meet once a month to arrange events and actions. Coming up there's a fundraising gig at Hannahs, an info stall at FaCT environment week and plenty of festivals through the summer.
"Even the quickest campaign actions count. But what about doing something more? Oxfam activists do the vital job of spreading our message in the heart of our communities - building up the pressure, and getting the people who make the decisions to do the right thing.
We couldn't get the changes we want without them. Persuading decision-makers to act, and gathering popular support, can and does lead to lasting change. And it starts in your own community."
